Carl Street Urban Common

Located opposite the Buranda Village shopping centre and within walking distance of the Princess Alexandra Hospital and the Eastern Busway, Carl Street Urban Common provides the local community in this fast-evolving urban area with a recreational space to enjoy the outdoors. Artfully was engaged by Brisbane City Council to provide curatorial and management services to the project, involving a mural artwork which featured across a series of free-standing climbing walls. Artfully curated and managed an artist selection process and a competitive artwork concept development phase. Ingrid Bartkowiak's stunning work, 'Urban Connect' features native flora, fauna, and the outlines of people woven together in dynamic layers of colour, shape and pattern.
